KneeBouncers is play with purpose.

KneeBouncers was created in 2002 by me, Punch Robinson, and my friend, Kurt Dommermuth, for our own kids. At that time, all the games for young children on the internet required the player to use the mouse to control the action. So we set out with one goal: to create a series of games that even our youngest family member could easily play.

And thus, KneeBouncers was a born! (make your own trumpet fanfare noise here)

After seeing how our kids enjoyed the games, we shared the site with extended family and friends. They really seemed to like the games too and shared the site with their family and friends – the site quickly spread to families all around the world.

In 2008, we consulted with early educational experts in order to develop games that would better prepare children for preschool. Our mission this time was to keep the games fun AND educational. With a strong emphasis on play, we created a series of games that focused on the fundamentals of learning.

As the KneeBouncers’ audience grew, we worked hard to keep adding age-appropriate content to the site as well as creating the safest online environment. We believed (and still do) that your young family member should not be exposed to ads, links, or pop-overs that bring them away from the games. So KneeBouncers remained advertising-free.

In 2011, in order to keep up with the rising costs associated with running a small business, we changed KneeBouncers format to a subscription-based site. That’s right, for almost ten years KneeBouncers was free. By becoming a member-supported site, we’ve been able to expand the content including more games, The KneeBouncers Show videos, worksheets and offline activities.

KneeBouncers is not a curriculum-based site. Our games are a supplement to what you’re already teaching. If you’re focusing on letters – play one of our letter games, watch a related video, download a worksheet to color, and then see what activities are on the blog that further support what you’re teaching. Numbers, shapes, colors? We have lots of games, worksheets, videos and activities to support those too! We’re here for you and your family.

So that’s our story and we’re sticking to it. If you’ve already joined, thank you!! If you’re thinking of joining, please do! We would love to include your family in our crusade to keep play an important part of a child’s development. To get started, just click the button below:

And please help us by sharing our site with your family and friends. We rely on word-of-mouth OR word-of-mom to spread our story.

Thanks again and keep on KneeBouncin’!
